We redeveloped the logo for SNLL (Southwark Network for Lifelong Learning), to embrace the new direction the initiative was taking. SNLL brings together nearly 300 education and training providers, companies, guidance agencies, voluntary sector agencies and community groups across Southwark.
The initiative had been going for many years, the brand had originally been dominated by a green and black figurative logo. The organisers felt that this generic approach was outdated as it didn’t reflect the specific ways in which the intitaitve was working.

As the initiative already had many members, we strove to retain some of the elements of the original design, such as colour and a figurative nature so as not to break the recognition factor, and to undermine all the work that the intiative had done before.

The way the in which we developed the logo, enabled it to be broken down to form many sister logos. As the initiative had many strands, tools and programmes that they wanted to push, such as the interview assistant, the CV wizard (for which we also developed the concept interfaces for), this gave them a very extensible language.
Only once the new logo had been introduced we started to push the branding to embrace other colours and to isolate the forms and re-use them in a playful way.
We designed the templates for their web portal and their promotional CDROMs, which Southwark and their training partner then developed with their in house developers.
Finally after our design stages were over we developed templates and guidelines for all their print, brochures, newsletters and posters, putting them totally in control of their communication output.
