Monomo Interaction Design

we_are_not_architects

wearenotarchitects1.pngWe developed a temporary identity for the collaborative work of Rocio Paz and Yael Brosilovski, former Zaha Hadid co-workers. Through their name, ‘we are not architects’, they wanted to challenge the preconceptions of architecture. We developed an identity which playfully complimented and extended this idea.

As their name was open to many different interpretations, we wanted them to be able to have both some flexibility and control in how they then presented their practise, depending on various different situations they found themselves in. So we decided to print their name on to tape (which depending on how you prepared it) could be cut to various sizes on various background colours. They could then apply and customise their tape as and how ever they wanted.

This hands on, direct method enabled them an on demand approach to their stationary and gave them the freedom to customise and what ever came to hand, vending machine business cards, scrap paper, images, for their own purposes.

Another project that also uses tape in a similar way is Pixel Tape by Random International.
